Larry Gagosian graduated from UCLA in 1969 In 1980, he opened a gallery in Los Angeles, specializing in modern and contemporary art. Until 1996, he owned a SoHo gallery with the legendary dealer Leo Castelli. Today, Gagosian Gallery has evolved into a global network, currently maintaining twelve distinct exhibition spaces in eight cities.
